Akasa is all set for a reprise of her hit song, Naiyyo. The original version, which she recorded with rapper Raftaar, became popular upon release a while back.

" ‘Naiyyo' is special for me. It marked my debut as a lyricist and a composer, and now I feel that it is a gift that keeps on giving. When I wrote the bit ‘Hun mai tere naal nai teh / Mere naal v tu naiyyo', it came from a personal space of a very dramatic heartbreak," Akasa said, adding that the original version is quirky, fun, and ‘nakhreela'.

The reprise, though, is only recorded by Akasa. While the original is a cheeky take on millennial romance, and the reprised version is fashioned as a ballad of a heartbroken girl.

"Because the melody and the words are so close to my heart, I wanted a stripped-down version that was filled with emotions. After all, not everybody has a Raftaar to patch them up post breakups. So, this one is for all the heartbroken souls out there," Akasa said.
