A reigning star of her time, she recently made a comeback with Gulaab Gang, Juhi Chawla. Not only is she widely acclaimed for her versatile roles, but she makes headlines for her elegant sartorial choices too.

Since the start of her career, Juhi has been beyond charming in the movies she has starred. From Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to Ishq To Luck By Chance, watching Juhi Chawla on screen is simply mesmerizing. On her 51st birthday, we wish her All the best for her future and take a look at some of her life's lesser-known stories

Juhi Chawla was the winner of Miss India title in 1984? She also won the Best Costume Award in the Miss Universe contest in 1984, though she missed out on winning the main title.

Contrary to popular opinion, Juhi Chawla's first movie was not Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), though it was certainly her breakout role. She has actually acted in two other movies before that. Her first movie was Sultanat in 1986, where she had a small role and was cast opposite Karan Kapoor. Then there was a Kannada movie, Premaloka, which was a huge hit. Interestingly, QSQT was not Aamir's adult debut as well, as he had done that four years ago in Holi.

Juhi Chawla was quite a popular heroine in the '90s and she had acted with many heroes like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol, Ajay Devgn, Rishi Kapoor etc. However, there was one actor that she never romanced with, was Salman Khan. Juhi had talked about this when she came on Koffe With Karan. She had said, "There were events where we met and I would look at Salman and he would look at me as if he did not know who I was. There have been incidents where I really did not know what was going on in his mind. And because we never worked together I could not just pick up the phone and speak to him.". It is not that Salman Khan has never worked with Juhi. He had a cameo in Deewana Mastana, where he takes Juhi away from Anil Kapoor and Govinda. They also acted together in Salaam-e-Ishq (that also had Anil Kapoor and Govinda in the cast), though I don't remember they even shared a frame together in the movie.

Aamir and Juhi made quite a popular pair in the '80s and '90s, giving out hits like QSQT, Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke, and Ishq. But did you know that they were not on talking terms with each other for 4-5 years? It all happened thanks to a prank that Aamir and Ajay Devgn played on her to which she had reacted badly. Aamir didn't like how she reacted and acted very seriously when interacting with her thereon. This led to both of them not talking to each other after the movie was completed.

While Juhi had been a popular actress on her own, she has been a huge fan of Sridevi. Juhi had once said this about Sridevi, "I see her today and I think, what an amazing work. I have seen Chandni, Chalbaaz, Lamhe over and over again and I find her fabulous in every frame." Interestingly, Juhi's debut movie Sultanat had Sridevi as the main female lead, while Juhi also had a cameo in Sridevi's Chandni.

Juhi Chawla, was the first choice to play Karisma Kapoor's role in Dil Toh Pagal Hai? But thanks to her rivalry with Madhuri Dixit, she let go of the role and the elder Kapoor sis took it with both hands. Karisma won a National Award for her performance in the movie. Juhi also had let go off Raja Hindustani, which again went to Karisma and was a huge hit as well. Needless to say, Juhi still regrets these decisions, as she once revealed, "When you are flying too high, many a time, you let your ego take the decisions. In my case, I ended up making Karisma Kapoor a star in the process. I was the first choice for Raja Hindustani. She also went on to do Dil To Pagal Hai, which was offered to me first."
