In recognition of its work in the field of digital journalism, a web-based sports channel from India, Power Sportz, has become one of the winners of the "India International Excellence Awards".

Launched by former President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on September 10, the award distribution event took place in Dubai on September 14 amid the presence of a galaxy of Bollywood stars and diplomats from around the world.

Power Sportz Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Kanthi D Suresh, received the award from BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain with dignitaries from the UK and the United Arab Emirates present at the event held at Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa.

The two-day affair began with a pre-award function on September 13, followed by an investor meet the next day.

Power Sportz was selected from India in the category of digital media excellence in the field of sports.

The event, however, also witnessed a minor hiccup as the anchor wrongly announced that the Power Sportz Editor-in-Chief was to receive the award from a Bollywood actor.

However, after the on-stage gaffe, the sports channel head finally received the award from the dignitaries who were actually supposed to present her the award.
