Akshay Kumar has followed the footsteps of Aamir Khan and has asked director Sajid Khan to leave the film as the director of Housefull 4. The decision was taken after two girls levelled sexual harassment charges against Khan. Akshay and producer of the film, Sajid Nadiadwala, took this call after the former returned from his holiday. They mutually decided and asked Sajid Khan to step down as the director of this film. Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar took this call in the interest of the film.

Sajid Khan also met up with Nadiadwala and Akshay and readily agreed to step down as the captain of the ship. Housefull being a franchise that is very dear to Sajid Nadiadwala and since didn't want to hamper it or tarnish it by anyways. Hence the decision was taken that Sajid will be asked to leave the film."

Sajid took to social media to release a statement stating that he is stepping down as the director of Housefull 4 till the time he can allay the allegations and prove the truth. "In the wake of the allegations against me and the pressure being put on me and my family, the producers and stars of my film Housefull 4, I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post," Sajid wrote.

Incidentally, Housefull 4 also stars Nana Patekar, who has been accused of sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta. Shortly there would be a press conference where fromar announcement by Sajid Khan would reveal his decision to step down as the director for the film.
