"I chose to do Dear Zindagi because you were in it", said King Khan to Alia Bhatt.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was all praise for his Dear Zindagi co-star Alia Bhatt. SRK played second fiddle to Alia in the movie, which was directed by Gauri Shinde. Dear Zindagi received mostly positive response from critics. Audiences praised both Bhatt's and Khan's performances.

Shah Rukh Khan recently revealed that he had accepted the movie only because Alia Bhatt was in it.

“Maine thoda sa kaam kiya hai tumhari saath. Maine Dear Zindagi main isliye kaam kiya kyun ki mujhe tumhare saath kaam karna tha. Mujhe tum main kuch ajeeb si harkat lagti hai as an actor. Mujhe aisa lagta hai main tumhare saath baithoonga, baat karunga, shayad ek do scene karunga, to woh harkat mujh main aa jayegi aur main better actor ban sakunga. Honestly, Waise hi bahot sare log jo jaante hai tumhe woh maante hai yeh. (I’ve worked a little with you. I worked in Dear Zindagi because I’d wanted to work with you. I find something very strange in your style of acting. And I believe if I work with you, spend time with you, do a couple of scenes with you, I might be able to emulate that style. Honestly, most people who know you agree on this),” he told her during the show.

SRK will be next seen in a double role, one as a Dwarf, in Anand L. Rai's next. Alia Bhatt will be seen in Meghna Gulzar's Raazi opposite Vicky Kaushal.
