The famous Tarzan is back in Congo. Find out how he fares this time. Read the full review of The Legend of Tarzan.

Directed by David Yates, The Legend of Tarzan stars Alexander Skarsgard as the screaming, yelling and ape loving guy who sings from vines in the jungles of Congo. It also features Margot Robbie as Jane and Samuel L. Jackson.

Tarzan picks up 10 years after the adventures of Tarzan. This time Tarzan doesn't go by his own name but by his actual name. He is married to Jane and living happily. But in Congo, there is slavery and other things happening and he needs to go back to his old jungles to prevent it from being enslaved by a Tyrant.

What's good about the movie is the scenery of Congo which has been beautifully shown. This film is about as good as any Adventure Tarzan film could be today but it is not great. Overall it will entertain you only if you are a fan of Tarzan. If you are not a Tarzan fan or not someone who grew up with the Tarzan stories then you will find this movie to be very hollow emotionally. It doesn't have anything to get you into it. There are many flashback sequences where you learn about Tarzan's past and things that happened in the jungle with the other tribesman and these scenes are supposed to make you care but they just don't do that. A lot of it seems very rushed.

Alexander is really good in his character and he embodies almost everything for a Tarzan character. He is a kind, generous spirit who understands humans and animals alike. He is huge at 6'4 ft and very buffed in this movie and displays the physicality very well.

This movie lacks fun and gets painfully dramatic. Only Samuel Jackson keeps the movie interesting and brings in some fun with his smiling face. This movie is fine for a Tarzan movie but that's about it. Watch it once if you got nothing to do otherwise avoid it. This ain't worth your time.
