Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Rangoon, which didn't perform well at the box-office. Kangana's character, however, was appreciated by the critics and the audience alike. Our Bollywood queen will be seen in her next movie 'Sumran' which is scheduled to release this year. Kangana plays the title role in 'Simran.' While not much is revealed about the film, the 'Tanu Weds Manu' actress is said to be playing a negative character who is based out of US and comes from a Gujarati background. Currently, Hansal and his team are in the US for the recce of the film.

Director Hansal Mehta says Kangana Ranaut, who features in his new movie Simran, is like “sone pe suhaaga” because apart from being a star she is a “fine actress”.

Mehta, known for making films like “Aligarh” and “Shahid” — delving into controversial and socially relevant subjects — keeps locking horns with the censor board over the release of his films. He calls it a never ending tussle.

Actor Sohum Shah, known for films like Ship of Theseus and Talvar, is set to play Kangana Ranaut’s love interest in upcoming film Simran.

“Simran” will release on September 15, 2017.
