Ranbir Kapoor has stepped into Sanju Baba's shoes for Rajkumar Hirani's next movie which happens to be a biopic on Sanjay Dutt.

Rajkumar Hirani's next movie based on Sanjay Dutt's controversial life will have Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The details of this movie have been kept fiercely guarded for quite some time now.
According to reports, the movie will detail the time Sanjay Dutt spent in Yerwada Jail. Ranbir Kapoor will be portraying his character and news is that he is preparing for the role full fledged and will grow his hair for this biopic.
The filming of this movie apparently began on February 25, the same date that Sanjay Dutt had walked out of prison. Rajkumar Hirani’s cameras were placed outside the Jail. Reports also suggest that the director has based the project on a number of recorded telephonic conversations with Sanjay while he was in jail. Sanjay Dutt will be a co-producer for this movie. Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt have been buddies and used to workout together in the same gym.
According to reports, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma will be portraying Maanyata Dutt's character in the film. The biopic is expected to hit theaters on December 2017.
