Padmaavat all set to cross the 200 crore mark this weekend

Despite all the protest Padmaavat has not just released but crossed the 100 crore mark in its first weekend.

This Friday there are no releases, not major ones at least and we all know that is a strategic plan so that it does not affect the business of Padmaavat. This strategy has been used many times in the past and will be used in the future too if useful.

No doubt the filmmakers have made a great film with some exceptional actors at their best, great songs, Hollywood level epic scale scenes, cinematography, direction, costumes and no expenses spared CGI, but the turmoil that this film has created in the country is beyond exception.

Who knows if the controversies were planned to make the movie successful or not, but the results of it are not healthy for India. A good product does not need such cheap publicity in my opinion.

However, even if the movie breaks all records and becomes one of the highest grossers of this year, it will never be among the greatest works of cinema.

Although that fact will not affect the business of the film because people who just want to be entertained and enjoy the grandeur this movie provides will make the majority of its audience, people who are fans of the actors will obviously watch it and filmmaking enthusiasts, if they are not fanboys/girls, will watch the movie to learn all the pros and cons of making such a movie and what mistakes they should not make while making a film and also learn all the right moves they should make to make a good movie or at least a movie which makes big money.

Bottom line, Padmavat will turn out as one of the highest grossers of this year and win a lot of awards whether it deserves to or not.

All being said, there are many good things about the movie and the actors and they have put their heart and soul in making it, for that, the movie does deserve a viewing.

In the meanwhile, enjoy the new song Khalibali which has been released on youtube.
