Since Amitabh's character drives the plot of the mvovie, he is an integral part of this sequel too. The legal dispute over Aankhen 2 was resolved last year and now the sequel is back on track with new cast and a new producer.

Aankhen starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen was hit movie of 2002. However, its sequel which which was announced in 2016 was stuck in controversy.

The film was originally produced by Gaurang Doshi but this time around it will be produced by RajTaru Studios which won the legal battle. The new cast being planned in the sequel will be spearheaded by Amitabh Bachchan. Sushant Singh Rajput and Kartik Aaryan will also star alongside the veteran actor in the sequel.

When producer Gaurang announced the sequel in 2016, the film’s cast included Amitabh, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Arshad Warsi and south actress Regina Cassandra. However, the film was stalled as it got embroiled in a legal battle which ended last year in March. The producer was also scolded by the High Court for not following its orders and was issued notices that neither he nor any of his companies had any rights to make the film’s sequel. In 2016, Bazmee had said he will soon announce the final details for the sequel.

The original film was a bank heist where three blind men played by Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal rob a bank with the help of the disgraced bank manager played by Amitabh. Sushmita plays the role of a blind instructor who trains them. The film was an adaptation of Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s Gujarati play Andhalo Pato (Blindman’s Buff). He had directed the original film too.

There is no official confirmation regarding the sequel or the current cast, either from the actors' side or the maker's.
